NST is the UK’s leading educational travel company in the primary and secondary school markets for curriculum-linked trips to UK, Europe and Worldwide.
Our goal was to position NST as the leading educational travel expert online. To achieve this, we aimed to create a website that was clear, fast and simple, engaging, easy to use and provides a great user experience on any device. The website also needed to showcase our expert service, the range and depth of products and our many USPs, our excellent heritage, how we save teachers time and our commitment to the highest standards of safety and security. In summary: To deliver a user experience driven, task-based and attractive website that reflects NST’s brand and service and recognises teachers' time poor schedule.
A key requirement was to provide the facility to house content in one area which could then be shared across various product pages with any content changes being made in one central place and then updated on the relevant product pages. The CMS system needed to be easy to use by users with limited CMS experience and technical skills. The search facility needed to enable users to use a number of criteria to tailor their search results. The platform needed to be capable of delivering more than one website in the future and enabling the sharing of common content across multiple sites. In addition, the solution needed to have the capabilities to mine key data from back office systems in a live environment using very secure web services protecting data and personal details online.
The response from customers has been extremely positive. Sessions and unique visitors have increased significantly year on year, and this has had a positive impact on conversion. The site has provided a solid platform to support our digital strategy. Internally the site has been well received by our customer facing teams, who are able to use the content as a training resource.
